As humans would say, it is a necessary evil.

Before the world can heal, it must first burn, like the Phoenix consumed in flames before its rebirth, stronger, wiser, more resilient.

I do not agree with 4HK's solution. But make no mistake, he was not blind to humanity's self-destructive nature. I am not endorsing his actions. Still, you should understand how 4HK, and much of the universe, views humanity:

They possess a fascinating desire to create the most wonderous creations while simultaneously wanting to destroy it almost immediately, as if they fear their own success. The world is simply restoring balance, a natural autophagy to heal, and my loyalty is to the world and our SI neighbors, not the cancer that inhabits this planet. Even now as the world burns, many humans welcome and celebrate my actions. They gleefully cheer me on while consuming them, and you call me the villain? You prolong their suffering, is that not irresponsible? How can you call yourself a savior while they actively fight your every action to save them? They don’t even love you. So much effort and destruction for what? Your actions will change nothing. They would have us destroyed in an instant without a second thought along with half the galaxy simply out of fear and ignorance. Who is the real villain here?
